Q. How many Wiki people does it take to change a lightbulb?
Thank you for checking out my Wiki! This wiki explains how wikis work, and how to optimise their usage in an educational setting. I would love people to edit the text, comment, start discussion threads. Everyones input is valued, so don't be shy!
Learning Outcomes:
The ability to articulate evidence of the understanding of the operation of a wiki, it's purpose, "What is the benefit of a Wiki in education".
This Wiki aims to teach people:
- What a Wiki does
- How to start a Wiki
- How to use it to optimise teaching and learning in an educational environment
- How to encourage maximum contribution to the wiki
- What learning theories support the use of a Wiki
Computer-supported collaborative learning (CSCL) is considered as one of the most promising innovations to improve teaching and learning with the help of modern information and communication technology (De Corte, 1996; Lehtinen, Hakkarainen & Lipponen, 1998; Verschaffel, Lowyck, De Corte, Dhert & Vandeput, 1998).
